Nina Simone’s estate is not here for the biopic Zoe Saldana is playing in! They want everyone to know that they’re not featuring it and I don’t blame them one bit! Poor Zoe Saldana as I’ve always been here for her but I’m disappearing like Homer Simpson in the bushes on this one.
Zoe Saldana was feeling herself and that mudpie makeup and was just tweeting her little fingers away. Seems she was excited to wear black face and a fake nose. Well, Nina Simone’s estate had a wet wipe to clean up the mess.
Why is it that Zoe Saldana was chosen? Could it be said that she is relevant right now? Guards of the Galaxy did well. Or is it something else? Out of all the actresses that are available with natural dark skin, why chose her?
We know it’s a problem in Hollywood when it comes to casting people of color. The acting doesn’t look as bad it’s just hard to get over Zoe looking she got stuck in a chimney. There is also a color issue that some people refuse to believe.
Sometimes I ask myself if the main cast of Empire were dark skin will it be as popular or even considered in the first place.
