The Butterfly Project believes that it is the responsibility of everyone to participate in domestic violence conversation. Once the conversation stops fewer people are aware of abuse and it makes more people susceptible to abuse. There are things that you can do to educate the people around you.
The Butterfly Project has published a brochure on domestic abuse prevention that can be distributed freely in your community. The brochure will help the public identify and report suspected cases of domestic violence.

- Low self-esteem
- Referring to partner’s temper but not giving specific instances
- Fear of partner
- Extreme submission
- Consistent hiding
The domestic abuse prevention tactics everyone should take:
- Ask questions and make the victim feel comfortable
- Educate children in a non-gruesome manner
- Know basic stats
- Research or ask questions if you don’t know
